Christmas is over! Happy New Year!

Well, Christmas is over and was pretty uneventful this year. I ate a lot of food and Christmas cookies so hopefully I haven't gained too much weight for the my doctor's appt next week. I can't believe that next year we will have a 10 month old crawling or walking around.

I've posted a picture of the cousin's on Christmas Eve. Kind of creepy, huh? I think they're just excited about the baby. I've also posted my 33 week pic by the X Mas tree. The tree will be coming down this weekend so I thought I'd get one more picture with the tree in it.

The nursery is making progress. Jamisen assembled the dresser but had a little trouble with the crib. He had to take it apart again and start over. He's working on it right now (and swearing) so I figured I'd stay out of his way because I'm not really much help. I'm hoping to paint the tree mural on the wall this week and also get a closet organizer installed. I'm still on vacation so I should do something productive.

I'm getting excited for the baby to be here, plus I'm just getting really uncomfortable. I can't wear my wedding ring anymore because my fingers are swollen. Even my fake larger wedding band doesn't fit.

Almost Christmas....

Jamisen and I went to an "ugly sweater" Christmas party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun and there were some hideous sweaters there. As usual, I was the DD so Jamisen got to drink with his friends. I think his friend Clint should have won---check out his Avon sweater in the pic. He didn't win.

We're both home on vacation now so my goal is to get the nursery done. All of the furniture is currently in our garage, in boxes. Hopefully we can get it assembled and ready in the next couple weeks.

I went to the doctor on Monday and the baby is measuring right on track for 32 weeks. The heartbeat is strong and the head is down. Now I'll be going every 2 weeks to the doctor. The end is getting closer!

Time to post

As promised, I wore a nicer outfit in my picture for my 31 week pic. Immediately following this picture I put on my pajamas. It's just sooooo cold out lately and it gets dark so early. I still haven't sent our Christmas cards but I haven't gotten many yet either so I guess everyone is behind this year.

As you can see, I'm progressively getting bigger. Every week I can't imagine growing any more but I've still got 8.5 weeks to go.

Bathroom almost done!

Wow, after 7.5 weeks the bathroom is almost done. Everything is functional as of today and I really love everything. There are just a few more items that need to be done --putting the doors on the cabinets, adding the drawer pulls, towel bars, toilet paper holder, and robe hooks. I've attached some pics even though it's not completely finished.

Almost Christmas....

Wow, I can't believe it's almost Christmas. My pictures are starting to look less flattering, I'm going to have to take a picture when I'm actually dressed better instead of after I put on pajamas after work. The baby is still growing as you can tell by my belly. I was measured at the doctor last week and I'm exactly average--29.5 cm at 29.5 weeks. I will now be starting my appointments every 2 weeks although my doctor cut my a break and is letting me go almost 3 weeks until the next one. My next appointment is right before Christmas and I'll be 32 weeks by then. I have to start going every week at 36 w.

I'm anxious for the baby to be here but I'm also nervous about the labor and delivery. Jamisen and I have gone to 2 of our 4 birthing classes and the videos are pretty scary. I'm sure it will all be worth it when the baby is here and we can't wait to see if it's a boy or girl. I'm guessing girl but Jamisen is betting on a boy. Well, I guess one of us will be right....

Will the bathroom ever be finished?

I think the answer is no. We're going on 7 weeks of bathroom construction with no predictable end in sight. I really want to take a hot relaxing bath but my bathtub is not yet hooked up to plumbing and the tile is not sealed. Oh, and there isn't a toilet. Since I pee about 4 times a night I'm really looking forward to not having to walk to the other bathroom.

I really hope the bathroom is done before Christmas....

Whoa!

I'm posting because many people have told me they read the blog and like to see pictures. I'm getting pretty big and I still have 10.5 weeks to go. I'm starting to be uncomfortable and have trouble sleeping.

Jamisen and I attended our first birthing class this week. Hopefully it will help prepare us for when the baby comes. I've also posted a picture of the nursery walls. So far the nursery is painted and I've framed some photographs I've taken. We're planning on doing furniture assembly over the Christmas holiday.

A little behind...

I haven't posted much lately but I've been busy this last week. Jamisen was away on a cruise with his family and I was busy with work and bathroom renovations. Thankfully, the bathroom is starting to look like it could eventually be finished although it doesn't actually have any working plumbing yet.

I've posted my belly pic from last week which was 27 w. Tomorrow (Mon) marks 28 w for me so I'm officially in the 3rd trimester. Still feeling pretty good just some lower back pain. I had a prenatal massage this weekend which felt really good.

We will be having Thanksgiving at our house on Thurs which should be fun. I did all the grocery shopping this weekend so we're almost ready.

Last week I made homemade cream puffs for hot fudge cream puff sundaes---they were so good!

Behind on posting....

I haven't been doing a very good job updating the blog lately. I took some new pics but I don't have my camera right now. Jamisen is off enjoying a wonderful cruise with his entire family. I'm so bummed that I couldn't go but the cruise line won't let pregnant women over 24 w on board.

The baby is doing well and getting bigger every day which means I'm getting bigger. I can now see movement when I watch my stomach which is kind of weird. 9:30 seems to be the baby's favorite time to move around. I heard that when the baby is born they often keep to the same sleep/wake schedule they had in the womb so we'll see.....

I will post more pictures soon. Still working on the nursery....

Happy Halloween!

So of course I had to incorporate being pregnant into my Halloween costume. I mean I'll probably only be pregnant twice in my life and what are the chances I will be during Halloween next time?

So if you didn't see the movie Juno, well you suck. And you should immediately rent it because it was a pretty good movie. If you did see the movie then hopefully you'll get the costume. Since you can't read it my shirt says, " So what other shenanigans could I get into to?"

Tomorrow I will be 25 weeks pregnant. I've still got a long way to go and I'm starting to feel pretty big but I'm sure I will get bigger.

Jamisen finished painting the nursery today so we're going to start assembling the furniture in the next few weeks. I'll post some pics when we make some progress.

Ok, I'm warning you, I'm posting a bare belly picture. It's further down the page so if you think it might disturb you don't look. I'm just amazed at how big my stomach has gotten this week. It seems like it's huge all of a sudden. I hope it doesn't have to do with all the Halloween candy I've been eating. I've tried to limit myself to 2 snack size bars a day. I just really want to eat sweets right now but I'm trying to work in some fruits and veggies as snacks.

In house renovation news, our bathroom is moving along. Apparently we do have hot water in the basement shower which has been great so we can shower at home instead of at the gym. I doubt I'll make it there for a workout now that I don't need to shower there. I've posted a few pics of the bathroom first in case you want to skip the stomach.

Bathroom remodel....

Wow, it's going to be a long 4 weeks which is the estimated time of completion for our bathroom remodel. Originally we were planning to shower in the basement bathroom but it appears that the people that lived here before didn't plumb it correctly. In order to shut off the water to the bathroom we are remodeling the hot water to the basement shower also has to be shut off. So basically our options are a cold shower or going to the gym. It's going to be a long 4 weeks. Plus, our house in covered in dust from the demolition (see pics). I'm sure it will be worth it when it's done.....

I've posted my 23 week belly picture. The baby is getting more active and moving around especially after I eat.

Behind on the belly pics....

I'm a little behind and this week my picture is 21.5 weeks since I was lazy. I'm starting to feel the baby move more now, not all the time but every once in a while. I'm gaining about a pound a week and my stomach is definitely getting bigger. It's have to believe I have another 18 weeks to go, I'm afraid to think how big I'm going to get.

Soon we will be remodeling our bathroom which I'm really excited about. Our bathroom is really ugly but we've been waiting to remodel since we still haven't sold the condo. I wanted to have it done before the baby is here since there will be tons of dust from the construction. I've posted some pictures so you can see how truly ugly it is.

We're making progress on the nursery. Jamisen has been working hard priming and painting the nursery. It was a big job to cover all the dinosaurs but I'm sure the baby will appreciate it. I can't wait to have the furniture and everything in there. Hopefully it will be done by Thanksgiving.

Nursery is getting started!

I have been kind of lazy with posting lately so I'm a little behind. We purchased the rocking chair for the nursery (see pic). It's exactly what I wanted and it was on sale which was a bonus. We also ordered the crib and dresser, also on sale. Jamisen put the first coat of primer on the nursery while I was at the cider mill. What a great husband!! Since he worked so hard yesterday today we are going to the Lions game. He has a built in designated driver for a while still.

I didn't post my 20 week belly pic last week since we were so caught up in getting the ultrasound pics scanned in. But we did take a pic so I posted it. I'm definitely growing and the doctor says I'm at a good size and weight.

Meet Baby Beevers!

This week I had my ultrasound and we got to see the baby. Even though I haven't felt anything yet the baby is moving around quite a bit. We stuck to our decision and didn't find out the gender. The baby had its hands by its face the whole time, it was so cute. Everything was there and working--- heart, brain, stomach, spine, and kidneys.

Plus, I was pretty proud of myself for not peeing for that long. I had to drink 24 oz of water in a 1/2 hour and be done an hour before my appointment. But it was worth it!

The first picture is the baby's feet. Big aren't they? I guess the baby is taking after Jamisen (size 14). The second pic is the head on the right. The bubbles are the ambilical cord and I think the kidneys are on the left.

19 weeks and counting!

Today I'm 19 weeks so I'm almost halfway there. My belly is getting bigger and I've gained 9lbs so far. I still haven't really felt any movement but hopefully I will soon. I have my ultrasound on Weds so we'll get to see how much the baby is moving around.

My favorite food right now is popcorn. Not microwave popcorn but real popcorn. I do have a bowl that pops it in the microwave but it has to have real butter and salt not the synthetic microwave fake butter. Anyway I've had a huge bowl every night for the last 3 nights and I think it might be time to slow down that habit. I also made apple carrot muffins which are healthy and delicious. Almost time for apple picking!!!

Last week was my birthday and I've posted some belated pics of our get together for Sept bdays from the weekend before. Tomorrow is my friend Carolyn's bday...so Happy Birthday (shhhh....I won't tell its the big 3-0).

18 week belly pic

As of Monday I hit 18 weeks so I wanted to add another belly pic. It's starting to get a little bigger. I haven't felt any movement yet even though the doctor said I should by 16-18 weeks. I keep waiting to feel something so I'm hoping to feel the baby soon.

The belly is growing!

I'm starting to show a little bit at 17.5 weeks. If I wear the right shirt I definitely have a baby bump. People still don't ask, so it's not that obvious yet. The doctor said I should start feeling the baby move soon but nothing yet. The baby seems to love apples. I've been eating a ton of them. Tonight I made caramel apple crisp and ate it with vanilla ice cream. It was so good!

Happy Anniversary!

Jamisen and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary last Monday on August 25th. We took a wonderful trip to Mexico. It was so relaxing! So many of our family and friends sent us anniversary cards which was really nice. I've posted a few pics of our trip.

I'm now 16 weeks pregnant so it's moving along. I can't feel the baby yet but I am starting to feel some stretching. It will be another month before we get the ultrasound where we get to see the baby. This week the baby is as big as an avocado. Next week is an onion and Jamisen hates onions so we don't want to bring that up.

As you can see, Jamisen is practicing for the baby with the cats. He'll be all ready to go by February!

More baby loot!

Wow, this baby is only 4 inches and 1 oz and it's already accumulating a closet full of clothes. My mom bought the baby the cutest sweatshirt and it's reversible. It's the baby's first yoga outfit.

I went to Babies R Us for about 20 min today. I think I found a crib and dresser that I like. I also found a really cute bedding set. It's cuter in person than in the pics. I don't really like the gaudy over themed baby accessories but I think I found a set that will be nice. I hope it's not too boring for the baby but the nursery is supposed to be soothing, right? Not scary, like the current nursery decor. (Scary dinosaurs from the little boy who used to live in our house if you haven't seen it.) See picture.

Where have I been?

I've been pretty bad at updating the blog lately. I guess it's because there isn't too much going on. I'm not feeling sick anymore which is a plus. I've expanded my eating to include "normal" foods again for the most part.

Jamisen and I went to doctor August 7th for my checkup and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was really fast and strong. It was great to hear it and know that the baby is actually in there since I don't really look pregnant yet. We won't have the ultrasound until the beginning of October. I'm finishing up week 13 and apparently this week the baby is about the size of a peach. Hmm....

Other than that I'm just trying to sleep as much as possible!

So I guess having a baby isn't exactly the same as having cats but they're all I have to practice on. This picture is not a reflection of my future parenting skills hopefully. I mean I wouldn't let a baby play with a plastic bag. Rest assured Molly was supervised the entire time and she loves plastic bags.

I've posted a picture of my belly at 12 weeks exactly. Ignore the water or whatever I spilled on my shirt before the picture. And the outfit, I was just going outside to walk in the park. I will try to dress nicer for future belly pics. It's definitely not cute yet, I just look like I've had one too many burritos.

I keep dreaming of beer.....

It's so weird but I've been dreaming of beer. Now before I was pregnant, I like beer and probably had a few a week. Since I've been pregnant it sounds and smells pretty disgusting. I would probably gag if I had to take a sip. Plus, I obviously won't be drinking alcohol since I'm pregnant.

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that I slammed a can of Labatt Blue Light. Not just drank it---chugged the whole thing in seconds. Then after that I remembered I was pregnant and felt incredibly guilty. Just last night I had another dream was drinking beer. Weird!!

Yeah...baby stuff!!

Earlier this week I went out to dinner with my best friend Ann. There are many reasons why she's great but to agree to go to National Coney Island for a hani---wow!! And she bought my hani. Ann got the baby the cutest little outfit (see the pic). It's so cute and soft. I love baby clothes!!!
