Almost 37 weeks....

Tomorrow I will be 37 w which is full term and by the picture you can see that I'm getting even bigger. Now I am going to the doctor every week. Since there are 6 doctors in my practice I don't always see the same one. The doctor at my 34 w appt told me I was measuring large and a week ahead. At my 36 w appt a different doctor measuring me a week small. So basically they have no idea. So far the estimate if I go until 40 w seems to be 8 lbs.

Jamisen and I took the hospital tour this weekend. I will be delivering at Royal Oak Beaumont which is a huge hospital so we wanted to make sure we knew where to go. The hospital has 20 labor and delivery rooms. After the delivery you get tranferred to a different floor for post partum. Hopefully they aren't super busy when I go into labor. It seems like a nice hospital, all the rooms are private and pretty large.

I guess it's about time for me to pack my hospital bag just in case. We also need to install the car seat base in the car. I'm still working so I guess I could go into labor at work so I should have everything ready to go in case I have to go home from work in labor. I guess it could be anytime in the next few weeks.....

Sorry I've been slacking on the pictures but I don't really like being phototgraphed much lately. I figured I'd wear black for this week's pic since it's slimming, right?

My cankles....

Well, I'm approaching 36 w tomorrow and I'm getting huge. On top of that, my ankles and fingers are getting really swollen. I'm trying to lay off the salt which was really tough during the holidays with all the delicious food. Plus, it's freezing here so soup sounds really good but most of the time it's just packed with sodium. So as you can see by the picture, my ankles can get pretty swollen by the end of the day. This particular day I was on my feet a lot at work which I'm trying not to do. Usually when I get home I put my feet up or take a nice hot bath.

4 weeks until my due date!

Baby Shower!

I had my baby shower on Sat 1/10 and it was really nice. Thanks to my mom for throwing such a great shower. The food was really good and the room was really nice. My aunt Denise baked some amazing cookies to give away as favors (see the pictures). Everyone was really impressed with the cookies, each one was different.

Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful but everyone was still able to make it. Even my mom's good friend Eve who lives 3 hours away still drove in through the blizzard. I'm so glad everyone was there, it was lots of fun. The baby is so lucky, he/she isn't even here yet and he/she has a ton of stuff. Our house is getting pretty full so we'll have to get everything organized and put away to get ready for the baby's arrival.

Nursery progress and baby stuff....

No belly pic this week....I might skip it for a few days. I'll definitely take some pictures at the baby shower this weekend when technically I will still be 34 weeks. As of today, I have exactly 6 weeks until my due date. In some ways the time has passed quickly but at the same time, I feel like I've been pregnant forever!!! Today the baby has been extremely active and seems to be poking me in the ribs.

Jamisen completed the crib and dresser assembly over the holiday break. I painted a tree mural on the wall. It's starting to look more like a nursery but I still need to: install the closet organizer, find curtains, buy a rug, and hang pictures. After my shower this weekend I will embark on washing all the tiny clothes. I read a good tip to put the socks and hats in a mesh bag so they don't get lost in the washer and dryer.

My mom knitted a hat for the baby which is the 1st homemade gift I've received. I'm sure the baby will appreciate it in the cold freezing weather.
