Still hanging out...

We've been spending a lot of time at home with Claire. Jamisen is trying to get Kate out of the house since she gets pretty bored. He's taken her on a few playdates, preschool, and the bouncy place. Kate seems to like Claire so far although she has asked me to put her in the baby swing a few times. Claire had her first doctor's appointment last week and she's doing great. We're going back this week to see how much weight she's gained.

Welcome Claire Elizabeth!

Claire Elizabeth Beevers surprised us by coming 8 days before her due date and 4 days before my scheduled c section. She is smaller than Kate at 7 lbs 13 oz (Kate was 9 lbs 9 oz). We are so excited that she is here and healthy. She is such a sweet baby, hardly ever cries and loves to cuddle. Kate is very excited to be a big sister. She's been a good helper bringing diapers and singing to her.

So I think it's going to be time to change the name of the blog since Claire will be joining in Kate's adventures. We're all adjusting to having a newborn around again but I'm really enjoying being home so far.

Play doh with Uncle Ben!

Kate had fun today playing with Uncle Ben. He built her a house with Lincoln Logs, raced with her cars, went in the princess tent, and played Cookie Monster play doh. So she had a pretty exciting day. It also gave me a nice break from trying to entertain her since I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable these days.

Kate is getting excited for her little sister to get here. We tried out the car seat with her stuffed animals to make sure it's ready. Her animals have also been getting rocked and sung to in the baby swing. 10 days or less until the baby's arrival.

We've made it through another holiday season and into the new year. Kate is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new baby sister. She's also enjoying playing with all the new toys she got for Christmas. We're in the process of finishing the basement which will hopefully help organize all these toys which seem to be everywhere. Soon we'll have baby stuff everywhere too! Just over 2 weeks until the new baby will be here.
