Kate likes Claire...so far!

Kate is 3!

Kate turned 3 yesterday and we had a birthday party for her. Claire pretty much slept through most of the party but everyone got to hold her. She really loved having everyone over and the cake and presents. She has been playing with all her toys. We played with the Matchbox race car set this morning and painted. She slept in her bed tent last night. Uncle Ben bought her a Barbie mustang she can drive. After the party Uncle Ben and Grandpa Ted took her outside so she could drive. She likes to drive but isn't very good at steering. She had a great time at her birthday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Home with the girls for Valentine's Day. Jamisen has to work tonight so I made Kate pink, heart pancakes which looked kind of weird but Kate seemed to like them. They tasted pretty good. Kate had her Valentine's Day party at school today and got lots of special treats. She also got lots of Valentine's Day cards in the mail which she is always excited about. Claire also had on a Valentine's Day outfit although she didn't care much about Valentine's Day.

Pretty Princess

Kate has gotten a lot of special big sister gifts since Claire has been born. My cousin Julie gave her a princess dress up kit and it is a big hit. Kate has been dressing up constantly and she even got Uncle Ben to wear a princess crown ( I should have gotten a picture of that!)

Claire is 1 month old!

Claire is 4 weeks old today and I can't believe she's already been here for a month. She's doing very well, mostly eating and sleeping (except at night). We've been trying to get her to stay awake more during the day so she can sleep more at night but we haven't had much luck so far.

It's been different having a baby that is small (to me) after Kate was so big. Kate was 9 lbs 9 oz at birth and Claire was 7 lbs 13 oz. At her 4 week check up Claire weighed 8 lbs 9.5 oz and had grown 1.5 in. She's a pretty easy going baby most of the time.

Kate is still the princess

Last week Kate woke up and I went in her room and she already had her princess crown on. She's adjusting fairly well to Claire but she wants to make sure everyone knows she's still in charge. Kate will be turning 3 next week and she's very excited for her birthday.
